Quickness: Analogy

For me, an analogy for quickness after much consideration, came rather suddenly and enjoyably. I was playing soccer with a league back home one weekend, and was enjoying some Goalkeeping. And then it hit me. Goalkeeping exemplifies quickness to me so perfectly, a player that has to be consistently up and down, blocking shots and protecting the net. It fits the zigzag notion that Calvino mentions, and being able to play keeper requires a lot of tactical know how.

In order to be an efficient goalkeeper, the player requires intense mental training. Knowing that as the last line of defense in a game of few points, you are the one they count on to stop that number from growing.
